About

SIGCITE is the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Cybersecurity & Information Technology Education (formerly, SIGITE). Our members include cybersecurity and information technology faculty (teachers and researchers), students, and industry professionals.

With over 400 members worldwide, SIGCITE drives the creation and dissemination of the computing discipline of information technology, including cybersecurity. The organization has created a model undergraduate curriculum and helped create accreditation guidelines for IT programs, and is now defining and promoting IT and Security research.

ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society; it delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession.

Mission and Purpose

ACM Computing Menu

SIGCITE provides a forum to discuss, develop, evolve, and promote the disciplines of Cybersecurity and IT.

The academic discipline of IT is quite new but is now recognized by ACM as well as IEEE as a peer in the menu of computing disciplines along side computer science (CS), information systems (IS), and computer engineering (CE).

The SIG’s mission is thus twofold:

1. To be a venue for the discussion and dissemination of IT education.
2. To articulate, promote, and  dissemination of research related to IT.
