SIGITE 2021

The 22nd ACM Annual Conference on Information Technology Education (SIGITE 2021) will be co-hosted by Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University and will take place at the Snowbird Resort, October 6-9, 2021. The conference is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group for Information Technology Education (SIGITE). The conference provides a forum for sharing and developing ideas relating to Information Technology (IT) research, education, applications, IT industry-academia relationships, and our roles as professionals, educators, teachers, and advocates for the effective use of information technology.

Conference Theme

The theme of the 22nd ACM Annual Conference on Information Technology Education will be “Empowering IT Education”. The global pandemic has made it clear that modern education, work, and communication depend on a sound IT infrastructure. Educated professionals keep the IT infrastructure operating and growing. IT education is empowering individuals, organizations, and society to advance during current disruption and change.

Registration is Open!

The registration is now open and the early bird pricing, valid until September 4, is $400 for Members and $450 for non-members. Starting at September 5, the regular price will be $500 for Members and $550 for non-members. To register for the conference, please visit the registration page.

About Brigham Young University
BYU is proud to be the first institution to host SIGITE for the second time, the first being in 2004. BYU was founded in 1875, and is home to over 33,000 students, in 11 colleges or schools, offering 194 bachelor’s degree programs, 68 master’s degree programs, 25 PhD programs, and a Juris Doctor program. BYU is a private institution, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, headquartered in Salt Lake City. The IT & Cybersecurity programs at BYU offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees to over 300 students.

About Utah Valley University
SIGITE 2021 will be co-hosted by UVU, which is only 4.2 miles from BYU. The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Department in the College of Engineering and Technology at Utah Valley University offers master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees and certificate programs to 750 students. Offering IT education ranging from Concurrent Enrollment classes in regional high schools through graduate programs, the IS&T Department is a lifelong partner for many IT professionals. UVU was founded in 1941, and is presently the largest 4-year academic institution in Utah, with over 41,000 students enrolled in eight colleges or schools. It is part of the state of Utah System of Higher Education.
